Falling for fall.

I grew up in Uganda where you can pretty much go to the beach all year round. I remember as a child, my parents would sometimes take us swimming by the lake on christmas day. Great childhood memories….

Living in Italy now ,i  enjoyed going to the sea , eating gelato and fresh pasta salads in the summer .Now that the temperatures are fast dropping  i am pretty excited to pack away my summer clothes and get out all the cosy sweaters and boats that i have been eagerly waiting to wear.

Besides the days being shorter ,i am loving everything about Fall. Here is a list of my favourites:

  • Clothes – i love sweaters ,boots, cosy socks
  • Cinnamon ginger tea
  • Scented candles
  • Cool breeze
  • Rainy mornings
  • Vegetable stews
  • Fallen leaves on the sidewalk

During this time i feel a certain sense of renewal : its peaceful and serene.Well i guess Sometimes we get so caught up worrying about ” the winter” or whats going to happen in the next 2 or 3 months. And we forget to smell the  falling burnt leaves  or notice the beautiful changes around us. Right NOW its beautiful and am loving every moment.

Happy Fall everyone.

What are your favourite things about this time of year ?

  1. Well said Lina! We shouldn’t waste our days worrying about the coming season(s). We should just focus on the current season and appreciate & enjoy to the fullest its beautiful aspects while it lasts. 🙂

    • Hello Nastassja,Thanks for the post. Who doesnt love to cuddle up around the fireplace on those cold evenings..and i couldnt agree with you more about the beauty of a leafless tree. There is just something about how the bare branches stand out after all the leaves are gone.

  2. To be honest, if I had to pick one, autumn would be my favourite season, it’s the most vibrant display of nature ever! Lovely shots Lina!

  3. Hmm..so true my dear. It’s funny how we spend so much time worrying about things we can not change…including the time of the season. nice one.wink*

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to difference.”

    Bless your darling heart.xo
